ELKINS, W.Va. -- Following a lopsided first half, the Davis & Elkins women found a bit more consistency in the second half of their road contest with the California (Pa) Vulcans as they matched them point-for-point, but ultimately fell 58-37.
California raced out to a 22-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and held a 32-11 margin at halftime. D&E found some consistency shooting the ball in the second half, however and the teams both put 26 points on the board in the half.
Kaylee Milburn and
Taylor Smith led D&E with 11 points apiece.
Milburn's 11 points coupled with her 12 rebounds gave her the second double-double of her career (first was 2/15/23 vs. Glenville).
Alexis Smith contributed 5 points, and
LaChazity Shaver and
Briyanna Sapp added 3 points apiece.
