ELKINS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College women's basketball team played host to Notre Dame College Saturday afternoon in Mountain East Conference action. A late run by NDC was the difference with the Falcons winning 63-60.
The Senators led 20-13 after a quarter of play.
Allie Taylor was hot from three-point range going 3-3 for the period. D&E would close the second quarter on a 10-2 run to take a 12-point lead (40-28) to the locker room. NDC outscored the Senators 17-8 in the third quarter. D&E led by eight (58-50) at the under five media timeout. The Falcons would end the game on a 13-2 run to steal the win.
Davis & Elkins was led by
Allie Taylor. Taylor finished the game with 20 points, connecting on six threes.
Marissa Berlin had a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds.
Peyton Mohler had 14.
Notre Dame was led by Marina Adachi's 14 points followed by Lilee Carlson 13 and Amil Ali-Shakir 12.
D&E falls to 6-15 overall and 3-13 in the MEC.
NDC improves to 10-11 overall and 9-7 in league play.
The Senators return to action Wednesday night traveling to Institute to take on West Virginia State. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm.
