ELKINS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College women's basketball team played host to the University of Charleston Saturday afternoon inside the McDonnell Center.  UC stopped an early fourth quarter D&E run to take a 73-63 Mountain East Conference road win.
The Golden Eagles led 26-17 after a quarter of play.  The two teams traded baskets in the second quarter and UC would take a 37-28 lead to the locker room.  The Senators would outscore UC by one point in third quarter and trailed by eight heading into the final quarter.  D&E cut the UC lead to just three on a 
Peyton Mohler and one with 8:45 remaining in the contest.  Charleston responded by going on a 16-0 run and sealed the victory
Dream Cherry led the Senators with 26 points.  
Peyton Mohler had 15 points followed by 
Kaylee Milburn 10.  Mohler had a team high eight rebounds.  
Marissa Berlin finished with seven rebounds.
The Golden Eagles were led by Markyia McCormick.  McCormick finished with 15 points followed by Sierra Davis 13 and Abby Lee 11.
Davis & Elkins drops to 6-17 overall and 3-15 in the MEC.
UC improves to 14-7 and 12-5 in the league.
The Senators return to action Wednesday night playing host to the number one ranked team in the country Glenville State.  Tip-Off is slated for 5:30pm inside the McDonnell Center.
