FROSTBURG, Md. -- Davis & Elkins women's soccer again surrendered an early goal, this time less than six minutes in, during a 4-1 road loss to 17th-ranked Frostburg State on Wednesday afternoon in Maryland.
Davis & Elkins (3-4) playoff chances, while still in tact, took a hit on Wednesday. Frostburg State (5-1-1) captured the MEC Central Division with the four-goal outburst.
Sage Christianson made the start in goal for D&E, making four stops in her season debut between the pipes. Frostburg raced ahead to the 1-0 lead in the sixth minute, doubling the advantage about 10 minutes later.
Maria Cabal found the back of the net off a set piece for her second tally of the season, slicing the D&E deficit to one in the 51st minute. The Bobcats responded quickly, taking back the momentum with goals in the 54th and 58th minutes.

Lisa Milliken posted two shots each. Ashley Bilger made six stops in goal for the Bobcats.
Davis & Elkins concludes the regular season on Friday, April 16 against WV Wesleyan at 7:00 PM. The final contest will essentially be for a spot in the upcoming MEC Tournament between the number two and three seeds in the Central Division.
