AB had an answer for every D&E run, using their balance throughout the lineup and hot shooting from three-point range to stifle the Senators. The Battlers jumped out to a 7-2 lead to start before zipping ahead by double figures in the first.
The Senators picked up the defensive intensity to start the second quarter, helping the visitors build an 8-0 run to begin the frame. Johnson got free underneath for a layup, then converted another stickback.
Lena Lee banked in a layup following go-ahead feed from Mohler off a block and Taylor capped the run with a bucket to make the deficit 31-24 at 7:49.
A foul shot from Mohler, accounting for the first points of the second half, put D&E within seven at 46-39. AB ballooned its lead to double figures about two minutes later and didn't look back.
D&E returns to the floor on Saturday, January 30, hosting Notre Dame (Ohio) at 2:00 PM.
