ELKINS, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins women's basketball fell behind 9-0 to begin the game and could not recover in a 90-58 loss to Notre Dame (Ohio) on Saturday afternoon.
Amiah Banks led Davis & Elkins (1-7) with 13 points and a pair of rebounds, while
Marissa Berlin posted her first career double-double behind 11 points and 10 boards.
Peyton Mohler and
Jessica Eadsforth-Yates added nine points each.
Jada Monroe dazzled for Notre Dame (Ohio) (6-1), notching a triple-double of 16 points, 10 assists and 10 steals. Jennifer Oduho notched a game-high 18 points and added seven rebounds for the Falcons, who received 10 points apiece from Theresa Parr and Lizzie Imrie.
Missing star senior
Jamiyah Johnson, the Senators trailed 48-19 at the intermission. The Falcons racked up 48 bench points, also holding a 23-8 edge in second chance points.
NDC opened up a double-digit edge following its quick start. The Falcons led 20-9 after the first quarter and moved the margin to around 20 for much of the frame.
Allie Taylor added eight points and six rebounds for D&E in her first start of the season.
Davis & Elkins looks to snap its five-game skid on Wednesday, February 3 against West Liberty. Tipoff is set for 5:00 PM from the McDonnell Center.
