GLENVILLE, W. Va. – Davis & Elkins was outscored by 20 in the second quarter during a 118-88 road loss to Glenville State on Saturday inside the Waco Center.
Five players finished the game in double figures for D&E, which included another double-double for star junior
Jamiyah Johnson. Johnson poured in 17 points and added 14 rebounds (seven offensive) in 27 minutes.
Peyton Mohler went 6-for-8 from the foul line and added 16 points for D&E, while
Jay Kilpatrick was a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe on her way to 13 points.
Sydney Nestor battled foul trouble, but still logged a productive outing with 12 points and five rebounds.
Glenville State continues to roll through the Mountain East Conference, stretching its winning streak to 16 games. The first-place Pioneers move to 22-4 on the season and were powered by the duo of Ty Armstrong and Emily Stoller.
Armstrong dropped in a game-high 31 points for GSC, while Stoller added 24. Zakiyah Winfield finished with 17 points and four assists and Re'Shawna Stone had 14 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- D&E began the game strong, moving ahead by eight at 13-5 following a Nestor layup at 6:38. Armstrong made it a two-point game at 16-14 following the under-five media timeout and Lucille Westfall tied the game at 16 with a jumper at the 2:46 marks as the Senators went cold.
- A hoop and harm for Mohler pushed D&E in front by five, 22-17, with under 10 seconds left in the frame. Both teams went through a scoring drought that lasted around three minutes in the second quarter before the Pioneers reeled off a 17-3 run for a 43-31 advantage with under three minutes reaming in the half.
- Both sides traded three-pointers, with Stoller connecting at 1:15 and :47 and Rachel Bolyard answering at the 56-second mark. The Pioneers took a 55-40 lead into intermission.
- The Glenville lead hovered around 15 for much of the third quarter and the Pioneers kept up the pressure in the final 10 minutes to pull away for the 30-point win.
GAME NOTES
- Johnson pushed her streak of double-doubles to 21 consecutive games. The NCAA record for consecutive games with a double-double in DII women's basketball is 24, set by Vanessa Witt during the 2007-08 season.
- Glenville State entered as the nation's highest scoring offense and put their ability on full display Saturday with 118 points.
- D&E remains in the ten spot in the MEC standings, with its final two games coming against the bottom two teams in the standings (Frostburg State, West Virginia Wesleyan).
