ELKINS, W. Va. -Â Glenville State showed off the potent attack that has them ranked first in Division II in Scoring Offense, riding a big third quarter to a 117-85 victory over host Davis & Elkins on Wednesday night in the McDonnell Center.
Both teams exchanged baskets to start the game, before
Rachel Bolyard's three-pointer gave the Senators a 13-10 lead midway through the first quarter. The Pioneers began connecting on their attempts from long range, but a balanced attack by the Senators found a 31-31 tie to end the first quarter. An effective Pioneer offense took control in the second quarter, taking a 46-33 lead before
Jay Kilpatrick's three-pointer sparked the Senator attack. The Senators would crawl back behind
Jamiyah Johnson's inside presence, cutting the lead to five with 2:15 left in the first half. A rejuvenated Glenville squad would close out the first half with a 62-49 lead.
After
Sydney Nestor kicked off the second half scoring, Glenville State went on an 14-0 run to establish control of the third quarter. The Pioneers' offensive surge spurred the Senators' miscues, as their pressing defense capitalized fully to pull away.

Sydney Nestor scored in double figures for the third consecutive game, adding 10, to go with six rebounds.
