Shorthanded Senators Earn Victory at Route 33 Cup Classic

THE RUNDOWN
  • Event: Route 33 Cup (5K) | Glenville, W. Va. (Host: Glenville State)
  • Result: Davis & Elkins finished in first with 18 points
  • The Short Story: Despite missing several runners due to illness, the Davis & Elkins Senators placed six runners in the top 10, including four in the top five in a victory at the Route 33 Cup Classic on Friday.

EVENT NOTES
  • D&E has won the Route 33 Cup each of the past three years.
  • Timm earned the MEC Runner of the Week award for her efforts last weekend at the Lock Haven Invitational.
  • Davis & Elkins is ranked first in the Atlantic Region and is receiving votes in the national poll for the first time in program history. Currently the Senators are ranked 29th nationally.
  • Three of the Senators top five runners sat out of the race to rest, recover and battle sickness.
