KEY SEQUENCE
  • Concord posted all the offense it needed just under 14 minutes into the contest against the Senators. Courtney Wallace dribbled in from the left side of the box before placing a shot to the right corner of the net to put the visitors up 1-0. Davis & Elkins had several cracks at the equalizer, including a final rally in the last minute, but the Mountain Lions escaped Nuttall Field with their unbeaten record intact.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A feeling out process throughout the first 10 minutes shifted in Concord's favor following a shot by Rachel Bell and the ultimate game-winning tally around five minutes later. Brianna Rose answered the Bell shot with an attempt of her own at 11:01 that missed the target to the right.
  • Concord posted a few more chances in the first half, but Katie Clarke and the defense ensured the Mountain Lions lead was just 1-0 heading into the halftime intermission. Lisa Milliken began the second half with a high attempt and Angelina Horan followed it up with a shot that sailed wide left.
  • Milliken again worked her way into the slot for an attempt at 61:28 that bounced into the waiting arms of Concord keeper Katie Maher. A string of three consecutive corner kick attempts by Concord had the Mountain Lions threatening again, but Clarke shut the door on an attempt at 73:17.
  • Asheli Freed found some space up the left side and placed a shot wide left, and the Senators last gasp came off a corner kick with less than 10 seconds remaining in regulation.

GAME NOTES
  • The Mountain Lions persistent attack kept Davis & Elkins on its heels as the visitors peppered Clarke with 12 shots on target.
  • The Senators have now lost four straight meetings against Concord, after beginning the decade with three consecutive victories in 2010 and 2011.
  • Saturday's contest was the final game of an early-season homestand to begin 2019 for the Senators.
  • Clarke, Milliken, Karin Rosario and Sam Cozzolino were recognized at halftime as part of Davis & Elkins homecoming festivities.
