AB Takes Two from Senators

PHILIPPI, W.Va -

Justin Worley hit two home runs in Game 2, but the Senators dropped two GMAC games on the road at Alderson Broaddus on Wednesday afternoon.

Worley scored Guiseppe Orlando with a base hit in the third to trim the deficit to 2-1. Tanner Wickham would tie the game with an RBI single in the fifth inning, and poor control from the Battlers allowed two more runs to cross off a wild pitch and a walk, giving the Senators a 4-2 lead through five innings.

AB would score seven runs in the sixth and seventh innings to win Game 1 by a final score of 9-4.

In Game 2, a first inning home run by Justin Worley scored Chase DeGrood to give D&E an early 2-0 lead. Dominic Bianchini would score off a balk to make it 3-0.

Worley hit his second home run of the day in the sixth inning, cutting the Battlers' lead to 5-4. It was Worley's fifth home run of the season.

Shawn Pass scored Dominic Bianchini on a game-tying double in the seventh inning, but a five run eighth inning allowed AB to take a 10-5 lead into the final frame.

Greyson Cladwell started it off with a double in the ninth, and Shawn Pass would score Anthony Laney off a base hit to keep the rally going.

Chase DeGrood plated Caldwell with a single to pull the Senators within three, giving the tying run an opportunity at the plate.

The Senators were unable to bring home any more runs and fell 10-7 in Game 2.

Zachary Higgins took the loss in game 2, but was solid on the bump, pitching 3 2/3 innings and allowing just one run.

The Senators will host Findlay this weekend for a four-game series on Saturday and Sunday.
