GLENVILLE, W.Va -
Two big innings doomed the Senators against Glenville State on the road on Tuesday.
Shawn Pass opened up the game with a first inning home run, his first of the season, and would drive in a run in the fourth inning. Pass also pitched a scoreless inning later in the game.
Hank Shultz pitched a perfect first inning with two strikeouts, and
Christian Ortega's RBI double gave the Senators at 2-1 lead through two innings.
Glenville would open the game up in the third inning, scoring four runs off
Kade Kozak (0-1). The Senators would scrape together two more runs in the fourth to cut the deficit to 5-4.
Marcos Feria came on in relief and threw two scoreless innings, allowing just a single base runner.
Max Larimore and
Brent McMillion would follow with scoreless innings on the mound.
The Pioneers would add five more runs in the seventh inning, and the Senators were held scoreless for a 10-4 final score.
Ryan Savitt had two hits for D&E, and scored on
Tanner Wickham's sacrifice fly in the fourth inning.
The Senators will open up conference play with a four-game set this weekend against Malone.
