ELKINS - Colleena Burdock set a school record with nine steals in a 78-42 win for Davis & Elkins over the visiting Scots of Ohio Valley on Thursday night

The Senators started off strong, building up a ten point advantage by the end of the first quarter, leading the game by a score of 26-16. 

OVU fought hard but couldn't get through D&E´s solid defense, who kept forcing turnovers, and their potent offense as the Senators went to halftime with a 44-20 advantage. 

In the third quarter of the game, the Senators kept the high pressure, forcing the Scots to commit errors and get into foul trouble. The Senators took advantage and finished the third quarter with a 66-37 lead. 

D&E never looked back and finished the game with a shooting percentage of 39.6 and an impressive 82 percentage from the free-throw line, going 32-for-39. The final score was 79-39. 

Colleena Burdock led the Senators with 15 points, and broke her own school record, adding nine steals.

Jamiyah Johnson and Sydney Nestor both had ten points and six rebounds each.

Jay Kilpatrick helped with three assists and shot a perfect six-for-six from the charity stripe.

The Davis & Elkins College Women's Basketball team will be back on the road to play Ohio Dominican University on Saturday for a GMAC matchup. The game is set for 1:00 PM in Columbus, Ohio.
