WHEELING, W. Va — Davis & Elkins finished out the road portion if its regular season slate with a 2-1 victory at Wheeling on Saturday in Mountain East Conference (MEC) play. The Senators fell behind early, but picked up the intensity int he second half to record a much-needed conference victory.
The Cardinals took an early lead on Gaizka Redondo's penalty kick in the 12th minute, taking that 1-0 lead into the break. D&E struck back in the 62nd minute as
Daniel Cerezo's equalizer knotted the game at 1.
Markus Just followed up his assist on Cerezo's goal with a goal of his own just three minutes later, assisted by
Jens Ovreseth.
Everton Carvalho had five saves in goal to earn the win for D&E.

GAME NOTES
- D&E and Wheeling tied with 16 shots each, but the Senators edged the Cardinals in Shots on Goal 9-7.
- Daniel Cerezo's second goal of the season proved to be the equalizer and shifted the momentum in the favor of the Senators.
- Today's win finished off the season sweep of the Cardinals, who last defeated D&E in 2011.
