Senators In Control in Sweep of Pioneers

ELKINS, W. Va. - The Senators rode double-digit kill performances from Kaitlyn LaCour and Raleighanne Weaver to a straight-set victory over the visiting Glenville State Pioneers on Friday evening in the McDonnell Center. Sarah Warren delivered 39 assists, while adding two service aces. Brianna Portley and Jessa Henry allowed for a formidable blocking front, combining for 13 blocks. D&E won their third straight Mountain East Conference (MEC) matchup, taking the season sweep of the Pioneers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
    •    Set One: Kaitlyn LaCour's five kills helped D&E to a dominant first set win, 25-11.
    •    Set Two: A 6-0 run to start the set behind the serving of Cynthia Arango propelled the Senators to a 25-16 victory in the second set.
    •    Set Three: The Senators ran off seven straight points, including two kills from Jessa Henry, to take a 14-6 lead that would prove insurmountable, despite a valiant rally from the Pioneers.

MATCH NOTES
    •    Jessa Henry finished with seven kills on 11 attempts for a .545 hitting percentage, while also adding seven blocks.
    •    Kaitlyn LaCour extended her streak of double digit kills to seven games with her 11-kill performance.
    •    The Senators serve receive was sharp, allowing just one ace from the Pioneers.
