BECKLEY, W. Va. – Concord stormed out of the gate to the tune of five goals in the first half as the Mountain Lions stifled Davis & Elkins, 6-0, in a Mountain East Conference (MEC) matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Cline Stadium.
Davis & Elkins (6-5-2, 5-4-1 MEC) recorded just two shots on goal against the top team in the MEC standings and fell behind quickly as Concord (12-1, 8-1 MEC) scored twice within the first 16 minutes of the game.
Six different players scored for the Mountain Lions, who push their winning streak to seven consecutive matches. Leah Bell, Courtney Wallace, Zoe Belding, Yasmin Mosby and Mira Kontio all found the back of the net in the first half.
Nariana Nealy had a pair of shots for the Senators, including one on target, while
Roxanne McFarlin also rifled a shot on goal.
Katie Clarke made eight saves in goal for D&E.
