LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Davis & Elkins Triathlon program picked up a pair of collegiate wins in its first ever collegiate-only competition on Saturday, defeating host Transylvania and Drury in a double-dual race.
The Senators defeated Transy 14-13, while defeating Drury 16-12.
Overall,
Sophie Schöppl led the way in the race for the Senators, finishing with a 48:38 to take second overall. Her finish scored seven points in the dual competition with Transy, while scoring a first-place 10 points against Drury.
Eleonora Pierre, who was second for the Senators out of the water, finished second overall for Davis & Elkins and fourth overall in the competition. Her finish of 49:30 earned five points in both dual meet scores.
Dru Mills led the Senators out of the water and came home with an eighth-place overall finish. Mills finished in a time of 1:01:25, coming in third for Davis & Elkins.
Kelsie Roby was the final competitor for the Senators, scoring a ninth place finish with a 1:08:51.
The Senators will take two weeks off before returning to action at the Baltimore Triathlon Festival. The race is set for September 29 in Chase, Maryland at the Hammerman-Gunpowder State Park.
