ERIE, Pa. – The Davis & Elkins Men's Soccer team fell to Mercyhurst 1-0 Sunday afternoon on the road in non-conference play.
 
The Senators fell behind on a 29th minute goal from the Lakers when Henri Tophoven beat Everton Carvalho to put the hosts ahead.
 
Mercyhurst started off strong, leading up to the goal, but from that point the Senators matched the Lakers throughout the contest.
 
The Senators were able to fire 14 shots toward the Mercyhurst goal, but were only able to test Martin Jarc three times with efforts from Abel Ameyaw, Friedrich Peter and Victor Pires all saved.
 
Carvalho finished the contest with seven saves for the Senators.
 
Davis & Elkins will jump back into conference play on Thursday as the Senators host Tiffin University at Nuttall Field. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. to open up a doubleheader.
