PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Soccer team dropped it's Great Midwest match to Ursuline College 2-0 on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Senators outshot the Arrows 8-7 in the first half with each team testing the keepers five times, but neither team was able to score, sending the match to halftime at 0-0.
However, it didn't stay scoreless for long as the hosts scored 89 seconds into the second half with a goal from Jarah Froehlich.
The Senators continued to outshoot Ursuline, with a 10-5 margin in the second half, but the Davis & Elkins was unable to put anything past Gina Cerny, despite eight efforts on target.
Ursuline doubled their lead in the 80
th minute with Theron Ruff's goal, securing defeat for the Senators.
Asheli Freed led the way for the Senators with five shots, while
Tessa Stewart had four in the game.
Lauren Hill made six stops in the contest.
The Senators will now set their sights on Tiffin, who come to Nuttall Field on Thursday. The match against the Dragons is set for a 7:30 p.m. start.
