ELKINS – For the fourth time this season, the Davis & Elkins College Women's Soccer team picked up a double overtime victory, as the Senators defeat Tiffin University 1-0 in a lightning delayed game at Nuttall Field Thursday night.

Asheli Freed scored her third overtime winner of the season with a shot from the right corner of the penalty area that found a way through Shelby Haworth's hands into the upper right corner.

Freed led the Senators with six shots in the game, all of which tested Haworth.

The two teams battled through the first half with Tiffin outshooting the Senators 9-5, but the hosts put three shots on target while the Dragons test
Lauren Hill just twice.

Lightning took over Nuttall Field at halftime and the game was delayed for just under two hours before play would resume.

Tiffin would again outshoot the Senators 10-8 in the second half, but both teams hit the target three times with neither side able to break the tie.

However, the Senators took over in the first overtime, firing five shots with four on goal. Tiffin had just one shot in overtime that failed to reach the target.

After a scoreless first overtime, the Senators grabbed the win in the 103
rd minute with the first shot of the second overtime period.

The Senators will look to carry the momentum into Saturday as they host Findlay. The game is set for a 2:30 p.m. start at Nuttall Field.
