PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Soccer team came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Lake Erie College Thursday afternoon in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
The Senators fell behind in the 25
th minute as Juliet Tyma gave the hosts the lead.
Davis & Elkins would put a couple shots on target in the first half, but were unable to find an equalizer in the remaining 20 minutes of the half.
After a much-improved half from the Senators to start the second,
Asheli Freed scored to give Davis & Elkins the equalizer.
Freed scored her fifth goal of the season in the 76
th minute, proving to be the tying goal that earned the Senators a point.
Lauren Hill would make eight saves in the 110-minute game for the Senators, helping D&E to the tie.
Davis & Elkins will set their sights on Ursuline College as the Senator face the Arrows on Saturday. The game is set for a 1 p.m. start in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
