HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Davis & Elkins College Volleyball team dropped its match this evening in Great Midwest play on the road at Cedarville 3-0.
The Senators were unable to keep pace with the Yellow Jackets in the first two sets, ultimately falling to Cedarville 25-14, 25-15, 25-23.
Kaitlyn LaCour led the way for the Senators in kills with 9, while
Raleighanne Weaver had five kills and a team-high .364 attacking percentage.
Jessa Henry led the Senators in 18 assists.
Weaver also chipped in up front to lead the Senators in blocking with five assisted blocks. Blocking was only one of two categories the Senators beat Cedarville in statistically in the match.
Kelly Smith led the Senators on the backline with 13 digs.
The Senators were held to a .067 attacking percentage, being forced into 15 attacking errors.
Defensively, the Senators held Hillsdale to .202 attacking, forcing 20 errors, the only other statistical victory for D&E.
The Senators will return to action, starting out a five-game home stand with a match against Lake Erie on Friday. First serve is set for 7 p.m. in the McDonnell Center.
