FINDLAY, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Volleyball team fell to the University of Findlay 3-0 Friday night in Great Midwest play.
The Senators played a tight first set against the Oilers, but were unable to keep pace with the hosts, who won 25-22, 25-8, 25-18.
Davis & Elkins only hit .091 in the first set, but forced the Oilers into six attacking errors, including a pair of blocks, hitting .174. The Senators fell behind early but battled back to tie the set and take the lead multiple times in a back-and-forth rally, before conceding late.
In sets two and three, Findlay was near perfect, without an attacking error, hitting .542 and .515, respectively.
Kaitlyn LaCour led the Senators with 12 digs and also had six kills.
Lillie Mueller had four aces, while Jesse Henry finished with 14 assists.
The Senators will look to rebound on Saturday, facing Hillsdale. First serve is set for 1 p.m. in Michigan.
