NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins Men's Soccer team fell to Walsh 2-1 Thursday night in Great Midwest play.
The Senators fell behind early with an 13
th minute goal from Brandon Denton to open the scoring.
The game remained close through the remainder of the first half, as the Senators applied tons of pressure to the defense of the Cavaliers, creating multiple scoring opportunities.
After going into the break trailing 1-0, the Senators would finally find an equalizer with
Felipe Polycarpo's goal off a ball from
Abel Ameyaw, tying the game at 1 just 72 seconds into the second half.
The Senators weren't able to hold onto the lead long, as Dwight Van Dyke scored in the 52
nd minute to give the hosts the lead and eventually the win.
The Senators fired a total of 23 shots toward the Walsh goal, including nine shots on frame, forcing eight saves from Tom Jackson.
Davis & Elkins will return to action next Thursday with a Great Midwest game at Lake Erie College. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in Painesville, Ohio.
