VIENNA, W.Va. - The Davis & Elkins College Men's Soccer team fell to No. 2 Ohio Valley University 5-0 Thursday afternoon on the road in Great Midwest play.
The Senators fell behind quickly to the hosts, who scored a pair of goals in the first 5:22 of the game. Juan Hoyos scored the opener for the Fighting Scots and Jorge Pradillos followed it up 45 seconds later to double OVU's lead.
Davis &Elkins would settle into the game, generating some chances, but offensively the Senators were unable to match the hosts, being outshot 9-2 in the first half.
With 39 seconds to go in the half, Ohio Valley would add a third goal from Duvan Erazo.
In the second half, the Senators would allow two more goals from Hoyos and then Pradillos to wrap up the scoring.
Davis & Elkins would earn a few more scoring opportunities, but were unable to find the scoresheet, forcing three saves from the hosts.
The Senators will now have a week off before returning to action next Thursday, taking on Walsh. The game will be in North Canton, Ohio and will kick off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
