CEDARVILLE – The Davis & Elkins Women's Basketball team fell to league leader Cedarville 65-60 Thursday night on the road.
Davis & Elkins played close with the Yellow Jackets for most of the contest, as the game stayed within a few positions until late in the fourth quarter when the hosts opened up a 10-point lead.
The Senators shot 40 percent for the game, being led by
Aliyah Dukes, who finished with 23 points and three rebounds.
Kali Wilburn was also in double figures, finishing with 17 points and five rebounds in the game.
The Senators outrebounded Cedarville 37-34, with
Colleena Burdock leading the way for Davis & Elkins on the glass, as the freshman grabbed nine boards.
Sydney Turner also had seven rebounds in the game to go with six points.
The big difference in the contest came with ball possession, as the Senators turned it over 21 times, compared to just 13 for the Yellow Jackets.
The Senators will close out the regular season on Saturday as they travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on Ohio Dominican. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
