COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Basketball team's season came to a close on Saturday as the Senators fell to Ohio Dominican 86-68.
After a back-and-forth start the Senators fell behind late in the first and were then outscored 25-8 in the second quarter. Davis & Elkins would outscore Ohio Dominican from that point, but the Senators were unable to close the gap.
Kali Wilburn led the way for the Senators, scoring 27 points on 11-of-19 shooting. Wilburn also had six rebounds, two steals and an assist in the game.
The Senators were held to 35 percent shooting in the contest, while the hosts shot 51 percent in the game.
Senior
Aliyah Dukes finished her career with 20 points in the game. Dukes also had four rebounds and four assists.
Fellow senior
Alicia Roth had a big game on the boards for the Senators, grabbing 13 rebounds to lead all players in the contest. Roth also had six points, two assists and a steal.
Sydney Turner also wrapped up her career for the Senators on Saturday, finishing with five points, four rebounds and three assists.
With the loss, the Senators season comes to a close after Davis & Elkins fails to qualify for the G-MAC Tournament, as the expanded conference in 2017-18 takes just eight of 13 teams.
