VIENNA, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Basketball team picked up their second win in three games with a 78-46 victory over Ohio Valley University Saturday afternoon in Great Midwest play.
The Senators used baskets from
Jay Kilpatrick,
Kali Wilburn and
Nicole Armstrong to jump out to a 9-0 lead and the Senators never looked back, cruising to a 22-11 first quarter.
Davis & Elkins continued to pull away, taking a 42-26 lead into the break before outscoring the hosts 36-20 in the second half.
Sydney Nestor led the Senators in scoring with 15 points in the contest, going 5-for-8 from the floor. Nestor also had three rebounds and two steals.
Kali Wilburn and
Colleena Burdock joined Nestor in double figures. Wilburn had 13 points to go along with three and two steals.
Burdock finished with a team-high three steals while collecting three assists and two rebounds to go along with her 10 points.
Kilpatrick and
Courtney Roth each had nine points in the game.
Armstrong and
Kaylee Yergeau led the Senators with six rebounds each. Armstrong also had six points and a pair of steals and assists.
Davis & Elkins will remain on the road, but jump into non-conference play, as the Senators travel to Fairmont State on Monday before closing out the 2018 calendar year at Concord on Wednesday.
