ELKINS, W.Va. - The Davis and Elkins College Volleyball team dropped a non-conference match against Fairmont State University 3-1 Tuesday Night at the McDonnell Center.
 
The Senators started off well with a tight 25-23 victory in first set. However D&E lost the momentum and dropped the next three sets 25-19, 25-22 and 25-9.
 
After a strong first set where the Senators started leading the way with 13 kills and an attacking percentage of .244, Davis & Elkins wasn't able to keep up with the visitors, who took control in the second set and held the Senators to just .093 attacking for the match.
 
Kaitlyn LaCour and 
Lillie Mueller led the way for D&E with 13 and 12 kills each. Mueller hit .435 for the match, while LaCour hit .140.
Mueller also led the Senators in blocks, chipping in with three for the game.
Freshman 
Solei Daniels added eight more kills to the count.
 
Jessa Henry and 
Elyse Bonnett split setting duties, with 19 and 17 assists, respectively.
 
In the back, 
Kelly Smith picked up 19 digs to lead the team defensively. LaCour was second for the Senators with 15 digs.
 
The Davis & Elkins College Volleyball team will be back on the road against Salem University on Friday. The game is set for 7:00 p.m.
