ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Volleyball team picked up a big 3-0 victory over Alderson Broaddus Friday night at the McDonnell Center, defeating the Battlers 25-12, 25-16, 25-20.
The Senators dominated at the net, hitting .357 as a team, led by
Lillie Mueller and
Kaitlyn LaCour. LaCour led with 17 kills, hitting .412, while Mueller led with a .818 attacking percentage and nine kills.
Raleighanne Weaver had six kills and
Solei Daniels finished with four kills. As a team the Senators had just eight attacking errors.
Hope Jennings led the Senators with three blocks in the game, while
Kelly Smith was the only Senator in double digits with digs, finishing with 16.
Briana Hoffmann had nine digs in the match.
Elyse Bonnett and
Jessa Henry split the setting duties. Bonnett finished with 20 assists, while Henry had 15.
The Senators held Alderson Broaddus to just .102 hitting in the match, forcing 17 errors.
Davis & Elkins also had 12 serving aces, led by Smith with four. LaCour also had three aces, while Bonnett and
Madi Gil finished with two aces each.
The Senators will return to action on Tuesday, hosting Fairmont State in a non-conference battle. The match is set for 7 p.m. at the McDonnell Center
