PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College Volleyball team returned to its winning ways Tuesday night as the Senators defeated Alderson Broaddus 3-0 on the road in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
The Senators dominated early, defeating the Battlers 25-15 in the first set. After a 25-20 win in set two, the Senators needed extra points to complete the sweep of the hosts, winning 27-25.
Charisse Mitchell led the Senators with 10 kills in the match. She hit .444 for the match.
Lillie Mueller finished with nine kills and
Kaitlyn LaCour had eight kills in the match.
LaCour finished with a team high three service aces, while Mueller had two aces.
Defensively up front, Mueller led the Senators with two solo blocks and two assisted blocks.
Alexa Smarra had one solo and one assisted block, while
Raleighanne Weaver finished with four assisted blocks.
On the back line,
Kelly Smith and Briana Hoffman led the way for the Senators with 13 digs each. LaCour was third for the Senators with 12 digs. Smarra finished with seven and Mueller had five dogs.
Elyse Bonnett led the Senators with 14 assists.
Jessa Henry had eight assists and Hoffmann finished with four.
Davis & Elkins will return to action on Friday, traveling to Northwest Ohio to take on Tiffin University. The match is set for a first serve at 7 p.m.
