ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Basketball team fell to Ohio Dominican University 73-64 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play Thursday evening at the McDonnell Center.
 
The Senators started the game strong but were unable to match the pace of the Lady Panthers in the second half of the first quarter, falling behind 17-13 after the first 10 minutes.
 
The hosts were unable regain a lead and struggled to make up ground on Ohio Dominican until the fourth quarter when the Senators put in a big run to cut the deficit to single digits.
 
Aliyah Dukes was a bright spot for the Senators, scoring 24 points to lead all scorers in the contest, while also matching a season high for the senior. Tonight's 10 field goals made was also a season high.
 
Dukes has scored in double figures for 11 straight contests.
 
Jay Kilpatrick was the only other Senator in double figures for D&E, scoring 11 points.
 
Kali Wilburn and 
Alicia Roth shared for a team high six rebounds each in the game.
 
Sydney Turner had five rebounds for the Senators and also led the team with three steals. The Senators finished with 11 steals in the game, including two each from Wilburn, Kilpatrick and 
Sydney Snyder.
 
The Senators will return to action on Saturday as they host Cedarville. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m. at the McDonnell Center.
