PHILIPPI, W.Va. - Davis & Elkins College Women's Soccer came away with a 0-0 draw against conference rival Alderson Broaddus on the road after 110 minutes on Saturday night.
The Senators outmatched their rival in every statistical category: they outshot their opponents 21 to 17, had 11 shots on goal to just nine from the Battlers, and they had four corners compared to two corners from AB.
Despite putting eleven shots on goal, they were unable to break the deadlock after 90 minutes of regulation and two periods of overtime.
Freshman
Abby Alexa led the way for the Senators on the offensive front. She had eight shots, four of which were on goal.
Sophomore
Asheli Freed had four shots, three of which was on goal.
Junior Goalkeeper
Samantha Wehri had the best game in her collegiate career. She was faced with seventeen shots, and made nine saves.
Her nine saves topped her previous career high of seven, which was set in the previous game against Indiana PA.
The Senators will return to Elkins for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference home opener against Walsh on Thursday, September 14th. The game is set for a 5 p.m. start at Nuttall Field.
