ELKINS – 
Sydney Turner hit eight three pointers to help the Davis & Elkins College Women's Basketball team to a 90-80 victory over rival Alderson Broaddus Saturday afternoon in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
 
Turner set a season high and threatened her own school record of 10 three pointers in the contest, scoring 24 points to lead all scorers in the game. Turner also had six rebounds and three assists.
 
Aliyah Dukes got things rolling for the Senators early, as she hit three of her four three pointers in the first few minutes to push D&E out to a 15-7 lead.
 
However, Alderson Broaddus would get back into the game and take the lead late in the first quarter. The visitors would hold a 46-44 lead at the break.
 
Turner, along with freshmen 
Colleena Burdock and 
Jamiyah Johnson, would take over in the second half as D&E outscored AB 12-2 over a stretch late in the third quarter to take over the l3-point lead headed to the final quarter.
 
Burdock would finish with 12 points, four assists and four steals, while Johnson would pick up her first career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
 
Dukes finished as the second leading scorer for D&E with 15 points in the game.
 
The Senators finished the contest with 17 three pointers, a G-MAC season high in conference games.
 
Davis & Elkins will return to action next Saturday, hosting Lake Erie College. The game is set for a 12 p.m. tip off and will be the Senators' Toys for Tots game with free admission being given to any fans who donate a new and unwrapped toy.
