NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Basketball team dropped its Great Midwest Athletic Conference opener 69-46 at Walsh University.
The Senators fell behind in the second quarter and were unable to keep pace with a high-scoring Cavaliers team in the third quarter, as Walsh outscored the Senators 29-11 to take a commanding lead that the visitors were unable to pull back.
Aliyah Dukes led the Senators with 12 points on the night, the only player in double figures for Davis & Elkins.
Jay Kilpatrick finished with nine points before fouling out of the contest.
Kali Wilburn had eight points.
Sydney Turner led the Senators with seven rebounds.
Davis & Elkins shot just 14 percent from 3-point range and 22 percent from the field, going 11-for-50 from the field and 3-for-21 from behind the arc on the night. The Senators also had 19 turnovers in the contest.
The Senators will look to bounce back on Saturday, as they complete the opening weekend of the conference season with a trip to Malone. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
