PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Basketball team fell in its season opener on Friday to #21 Michigan Tech 65-48 at the Crossover Classic hosted by Ursuline College.
The Senators jumped out to a good start, leading 1-12 after the first quarter, but Michigan Tech answered back in the second half to take a 35-30 lead into the break.
Michigan Tech would pull away in the third quarter, outscoring the Senators 19-10.
Nicole Armstrong led the way in scoring for the Senators, finishing with 11 points. Armstrong also had three rebounds in the game.
Sydney Turner also finished in double digits, scoring 10 points in the contest. Turner had four rebounds and an assist.
Kali Wilburn led the Senators with six rebounds and three assists. Wilburn also had six points.
D&E will return to action on Saturday as they face Ferris State at 6 p.m.
