ELKINS- The Women's Soccer team fell to Ohio Valley 3-0 on Thursday afternoon.
The Fighting Scots dominated possession during the early stages of the game and drew a penalty at the 25
th minute, but the resulting kick was saved by
Lauren Hill.
Ohio Valley scored when
Brianna Rackey deflected a Iona Rothfeld shot into the back of the net in the 34
th minute.
In the 59
th minute, Paula Valbuena intercepted a misplaced pass and fired it straight towards
Lauren Hill. Hill made a stop but the rebound fell into Thais Dos Santos, who then scored into the bottom left-hand corner of the net.
Seven minutes later, Konstantina Giannou scored from a Montserratt Grau pass to extend the lead to 3-0.
The Senators had six shots, two of which were on goal.
Asheli Freed and
Brianna Rackey each had a shot on goal. Freed's shot was saved by the keeper and cleared off the line by the Ohio Valley defenders.
D&E returns to action on this Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against conference opponent Cedarville. Saturday's game against the Yellow Jackets will also be senior day with special recognition before the game.
