ELKINS - Volleyball defeated Ursuline in four sets at home on Saturday afternoon.
The first set, the Senators fell to an early lead, but bounced back to tie the game at 9-9. From then on, D&E took control of the game and won the set 25-21.
In the second set, D&E had an early lead but was unable to overcome a fierce rally from the Arrows, losing the set 25-20.
The Senators traded leads with the Arrows in the third set, but eventually pulled away to win the set 25-20.
D&E took control of the game in the fourth set by forcing errors from Ursuline and out killing the Arrows 15-11. The Senators held on to win the game 25-16.
Sasha Johnson and
Anna Gallup both had eleven kills,
Lillie Mueller had nine.
Johnson led the team with four aces, which was her season high, followed by
Kaitlyn LaCour with three, and
Karlie Richardson with two.
Johnson also led the team with seven blocks, followed by
Raleighanne Weaver with six, and Mueller with five.
Karlie Richardson had 20 assists in back to back games, followed by
Briana Hoffmann with 13, and
Kelly Smith with five.
Both Smith and LaCour set a career high in digs: Smith had twenty-two and LaCour had nineteen. Mueller had eleven digs.
For the second straight night, the Senators had more blocks than their opponents, out blocking the Arrows 13 to 5.
The Senators travel to Canton, Ohio on Thursday to take on conference opponent Malone at 2 p.m.
