CANTON, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Basketball team fell to Malone University 73-64 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on Saturday.
 
The Senators held a 15-point lead at the half, but were unable to break the host's defense in the second half, shooting just 14.8 percent from the field after going nearly 53 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes.
 
Malone used a 16-4 run to close the gap over the first six minutes of the second half. The Senators still held a slim advantage after the third quarter, but were unable to find the form of the first half in the fourth quarter, falling for a third straight loss on the season.
 
Stephanie Wooten led the Senators with 18 points in the game and threatened a triple-double late in the contest. Wooten finished with eight rebounds and nine assists in the game.
 
Alicia Roth also finished in double figures for the Senators. Roth finished with 10 points in nine minutes of action.
 
Kali Wilburn led the Senators with nine rebounds in the game. She also had eight points and finished with a pair of assists.
 
The Senators will return to action next Thursday with their first home contest of 2017, hosting Ohio Valley at 5:30 p.m.
