ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Senators picked up their first G-MAC win of the season on Thursday by defeating Ohio Valley 88-59 in the McDonnell Center.
Aliyah Dukes led the way for the Senators with 17 points, a season high for the junior. Dukes also had a season high with seven assists and six rebounds.
The Senators jumped out to a 23-8 lead after 10 minutes and carried a 14-point lead into the halftime break.
In the second half, the Senators expanded on their lead with a 23-14 third quarter before scoring 29 points in the fourth quarter.
Sydney Turner also had a big night for the Senators, leading the team on the glass with 11 rebounds. Turner had a double-double in the game, also chipping in with 12 points.
Stephanie Wooten (16) and
Jay Kilpatrick (10) joined Dukes and Turner in double figures.
The Senators will return to action on Saturday with another G-MAC game against Cedarville. The game is set for a 2 p.m. tip off at the McDonnell Center.
