OWENSBORO, Ky. –
Stephanie Wooten scored 36 points and the Senators picked up their third-straight win in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play as Davis & Elkins defeated Kentucky Wesleyan 79-69 at the Sportscenter.
Wooten scored a season high 36 points with seven three pointers Thursday night, coming within four of her career high.
The senior played all 40 minutes and dished out seven assists and four rebounds to go along with two steals and a block in an all-around performance.
The Senators (12-4, 3-2 G-MAC) led the entire first half, but Kentucky Wesleyan (11-4, 2-3 G-MAC) came back to tie the game at the end of the third quarter and grabbed a lead early in the fourth.
However, the Senators outscored Kentucky Wesleyan 20-8 over the final nine minutes to pull away for the victory.
Sydney Turner and
Kali Wilburn joined Wooten in double figures, finishing with 12 points each.
Wilburn led the Senators with eight rebounds, while Turner also grabbed seven boards. Turner also had four assists.
Davis & Elkins will remain on the road as they head to Nashville, Tennessee to take on Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday. The game is set for a 3 p.m. ET tipoff.
