ELKINS – Davis & Elkins College Volleyball reeled off its third straight win by defeating Glenville State 3-0 on Tuesday night inside the McDonnell Center.
The Senators struggled a little early on with the Pioneers, but were able to gather themselves in the first set by attacking at a .345 clip to win the opener 25-19.
In the second set,
Kendall Jacobson picked up three aces as part of a 12-0 run to start the set. After Glenville picked up two points, Michela Touchet had two aces in an 8-0 run for the Senators, who closed out a 25-4 victory.
The Senators saved their strongest attacking set for the last one, finishing the third set with a .542 attacking percentage. The Senators finished with just five attacking errors for the whole match and one in the third set.
Sasha Johnson (9),
Anna Gallup (8) and
Kaitlyn LaCour (5) led the Senators in kills on the night. Johsnon also had two aces and led the team with five blocks.
Zoe Craig picked up 30 assists in the match, while defensively
Michaela Touchet led the Senators with eight digs.
The Senators will have a week off before heading up the road to Phillipi to face Alderson Broaddus in the G-MAC opener on Tuesday.
