NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Davis & Elkins College Women's Soccer team fell to Trevecca Nazarene 2-0 on Saturday in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
The two teams played to a scoreless tie through the first 45 minutes of action, large in part to the play of
Lauren Hill in goal for the Senators.
However, the hosts eventually broke through in the 51st minute when Chelsey Russom scored for the Trojans.
Russom scored when a corner kick rolled through the box and was played on by Lidiya Ogorodnik to Russom where she was able to beat Hill.
The score stayed the same for another 18 minutes, before the hosts doubled their lead with a goal from Courtney Dyer.
The Senators were only able to put one shot on frame in the game with that effort coming from
Kaitlyn Buoni.
Hill finished with six saves in the match.
The Senators will return to action on Thursday with a makeup match against Malone. The game was postponed earlier in the season due to weather. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. in North Canton, Ohio.
