Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Tops Cedarville 3-1

ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Soccer team came from behind to defeat Cedarville 3-1 at home on Saturday for the second straight Great Midwest Athletic Conference win.
 
The game was scoreless through the first 45 minutes with the Senators outshooting the Yellow Jackets 6-2.
 
However, it was Cedarville who would strike first as Alyssa Mailefer scored 19 seconds into the second half to put the guests up 1-0.
 
The Senators responded 16 minutes later when Tina Wulin sent athrough ball past the Cedarville defense and Katrina Giantopoulos was able to beat Allison Garlock to tie it up at one.
 
With the momentum back on the Senators side, the hosts were able to grab the lead seven minutes later when Ellie Rossiter finished on a cross in the box for her second goal of the season.
 
Giantsopoulos played the ball out from the corner and Taylor Drumm put the cross in from her right wing position to the center of the box to find Rossiter.
 
The Senators would add a third goal in the 77th minute off of a fortunate bounce for D&E from a corner.
 
Asheli Freed's corner kick came in tight on the goal line and the ball deflected off of Jocelyn Quirple into the Cedarville goal.
 
Lauren Hill finished the game with five saves to help the Senators to their second conference win of the season.
 
Davis & Elkins will return to action on Thursday with the first of three road games. The Senators will face Kentucky Wesleyan with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
