FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. –
Stephanie Wooten scored 33 points to lead the Davis & Elkins College Senators to a come-from-behind 75-61 victory at Fayetteville State University on Saturday.
The Senators trailed 37-31 heading into the half, but Wooten scored 22 second-half points as the D&E outscored FSU 44-24 over the final 20 minutes to cruise to their fifth win of the season.
Wooten hit six three pointers in the game and the senior guard also chipped in with four assists, three rebounds and two steals to go along with her 33-point effort.
Tajee Pledger joined Wooten in double figures, coming off the bench to score 10 points and collect six rebounds in 18 minutes of action.
Davis & Elkins shot 43.6 percent from the field in the game, including 32 points in the paint. The Senators shot 50 percent in the second half.
The Senators out-rebounded Fayetteville State 41-36 in the game.
Sydney Turner led the Senators with eight rebounds in the game. Turner also chipped in with five points.
Davis & Elkins will now return home for a Wednesday night game against Penn State Beaver. The game is set for a 6 p.m. tip off in the McDonnell Center.
