Senators Win In Record-Setting Night Over Penn State Beaver

ELKINSStephanie Wooten set two Great Midwest Athletic Conference Career records on Wednesday as the Senators also set a G-MAC record with their 106-37 win over Penn State Beaver.
 
Wooten scored 16 points in the game and became the new G-MAC Career record holder for career points with 1,315. Wooten also tied the career record for field goals made (459) in the game.
 
Davis & Elkins set a new team record with 18 three pointers in the game, breaking a school record and a G-MAC record, previously 17 held by Alderson Broaddus.
 
The Senators started the game down two points as Penn State Beaver hit both free throws on an administrative technical. However, Davis & Elkins would jump out to a huge lead, scoring the first 18 points in the game.
 
Davis & Elkins held a 47-20 lead at the break and expanded on it with a big third quarter, holding Penn State Beaver to just four points.
 
Five Senators finished in double figures scoring, and 12 Senators finished with points in the game.
 
Jay Kilpatrick led the way offensively, scoring 18 points while recording two assists, two steals and a rebound.
 
Sydney Turner also had a big night, scoring 17 points and coming up one rebound shy of a double-double with nine. She also had four assists and four steals in a big night.
 
Kali Wilburn and Aliyah Dukes were also in double digits offensively. Wilburn finished with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Dukes scored 12 points with four rebounds.
 
Tajee Pledger reached double figures in rebounds, recording 10 boards for a team high on the night.
 
The Senators out-rebounded Penn State Beaver 57-32 in the game anf the Senators also had 27 assists to just one for the visitors.
 
D&E also had just nine turnovers in the game, while the Senators helped force Penn State Beaver to 23 turnovers, including 14 steals.
 
The Senators will return to action on Saturday as Davis & Elkins travels up to Fairmont State for a 2 p.m. tip off.
