PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Senators Volleyball team completed a weekend sweep of G-MAC opposition by defeating Ursuline College 3–0 Saturday afternoon.
The Senators found themselves in a back-and-forth battle with the Arrows, Who sat atop the standings entering today's match, going extra points in all three sets in a 26-24, 29-27, 26-24 victory.
In a very tight match, the Senators had 39 kills and a .154 attacking percentage, while edging Ursuline in digs and holding the hosts to a .139 attacking percentage.
Elizabeth Estes led the attacking charge for the Senators with 12 kills.
Devin Saucy was second on the team with eight kills and
Raleigh Weaver finished with six.
Defensively, Saucy was key, recording a team-high 17 digs.
Kendall Jacobson was also in double figures, finishing with 12 digs.
Zoe Craig finished with nine digs and also lead the team with 33 assists.
Davis & Elkins will return to action Wednesday with its first match of three straight at home in G-MAC play. The Senators will face Alderson Broaddus in the McDonnell Center at 7 p.m.
