CANTON, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College Volleyball team came from behind on Friday night to defeat Malone University 3-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
 
The Senators took an early lead in the opening set, but the hosts used a pair of runs midway through and late in the first set to grab the lead and pull away to a 25-20 win.
 
However, it would be the only time D&E would drop a set in the match, as the Senators hit .256 and .235 over the next two sets to win 25-20 and 25-23, taking a 2-1 lead.
 
The Senators finished off the Pioneers in the fourth set, but need an extra point to do so in the tight battle. Malone went ahead midway through the set, but D&E chipped away to tie things at 20. The teams then traded four points each to pull into a tie at 24. The Senators then won the next two points to close out the match.
 
Elizabeth Estes and Anna Gallup shared the team lead in kills, with each recording 14. Sasha Johnson also was in double figures in kills, recording 11 on the night.
 
Zoe Craig finished with 38 assists in the match, while Gallup chipped in with five. Devin Saucy also had four assists. Michaela Touchet led the team in digs with 24. Saucy and Craig were also in double figures in digs, recording 14 and 12, respectively.
 
The Senators will return to action on Saturay, traveling up to the Cleveland area to take on Ursuline College at 1 p.m.
