NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Davis & Elkins College Senators Volleyball team fell to Trevecca Nazarene 0-3 on Saturday in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
The Senators stayed close with Trevecca early on in the first set, but gave up a 9-0 run to see a 7-8 deficit break open before falling 13-25.
In set two, D&E used a few mini runs to cut out a deficit and get back into the lead, but D&E was unable to hold on late as the 23-21 advantage was erased by four-straight points from Trevecca.
In the third set, the Senators gave up another big run to Trevecca, who won 11 of 12 points to go up 16-4. The Senators were able to trim back the margin a little, but were never able to cut into the big deficit and fell 15-25.
Elizabeth Estes finished with seven kills, while
Kendall Jacobson had six.
Zoe Craig led the Senators with 15 assists.
Michaela Touchet had 13 digs to lead D&E, while
Kelly Smith had seven.
The Senators will return to action on Tuesday, with a non-conference game against Charleston at the McDonnell Center.
