ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Senators avenged an earlier-season loss to the G-MAC league leaders by defeating Trevecca Nazarene 1-0 on Thursday night.
 
The Senators (6-6-0, 6-4-0 G-MAC), who only had one shot on target in the first match in Nashville, held the guests to one shot on goal in the contest, while the Senators piled on 13 shots and 10 corner kicks, dominating the majority of the contest.
 
Katrina Giantsopoulos gave the Senators the lead in the 42nd minute. The sophomore had a shot that was saved, and then collected the rebound, before banging home the follow-up for her ninth goal of the season.
 
The Senators carried the 1-0 lead into the half.
 
In the second half, Trevecca (9-4-1, 7-3-0 G-MAC) put their only shot on goal, with Lauren Hill calmly dispatching the effort to preserve her fifth cleansheet of the season.
 
Davis & Elkins College will return to action on Saturday for Homecoming. The Senators will kick off with Kentucky Wesleyan at 12 p.m. at Nuttall Field.
